Promote and Market Your Websites: A few No, No's When Promoting Your Website

There's a good chance that every once in while you check your spam or junk filter on your e-mail and get really irritated when you see the same informational marketing e-mails coming from the same people. This will eventually cause you to unsubscribe from their e-mails. Spamming or marketing your website where it doesn't belong, publishing your website when it's not finished or paying a lot of money without results are just a few of the marketing no-no's involved when it comes to trying to bring website traffic to your online business.

Marketing your online business by spreading the word needs to be done in order to increase website traffic. Doing it the wrong way can actually cause more harm and long-term effects to your business, than going slow and building your website traffic carefully and efficiently.

It seems that the junk mail folders get fuller and fuller as time goes on. Make sure that you're not spamming, and that you're only sending e-mails out those who want information. Not only is this bad marketing procedure and can leave people with a bad taste in their mouth's concerning your name, but it also can be against the law. Sending out thousands of e-mails on a daily basis may bring traffic to your site for a short time, but it's going to be unqualified traffic and full of people who don't want to be there. It only upsets them, and when they hear your name again it will be in a negative way.

Publishing your website before it's finished causes frustration for many consumers who don't want to return. Untraceable links, blank pages, and links going nowhere wind up frustrating consumers when they want to find information. Take the time to fully finish your website before you publish it or make it public. If you would like a test market send the private link out to a few friends and get their opinions but don't make it public until it's complete.

Website counters are great and allow you to know where your traffic is coming from, when it's coming, and how much website traffic you're receiving. But making it public can make people uncomfortable. If it's not viewed often, they'll wonder why they're there, and if it's a high traffic website, they'll wonder if you're being deceptive.

It's important if you're considering purchasing search engines submission services that you're able to track the results. It's easy for someone to say yes, I submitted, it's a lot harder for them to forward the e-mails when they actually submitted proving that they did the job. Paying anyone to optimize your website, submit your website or market your website should be done with careful consideration to the reputation of the submitter.

Your name is everything when it's online, take care of it, publish your website appropriately, don't spam, used submission services from qualified individuals and make sure that your online business name stays in good standing with good website traffic.
